Hospital Care for Uninsured and Underinsured
Hospitals are generally required to provide financial assistance to low-income people that use their facilities for emergency and medically-necessary services.
If you have recently been to the Emergency Room or been hospitalized and cannot pay your portion of your bill, you can apply to have some or all of your hospital bill waived.
The amount waived will be based on your income and you must complete a financial assistance application within a certain timeline AND provide all of the requested supporting documents. You must complete a new application for each hospital visit.

Willing Helpers Medical Clinic
Willing Helpers is a free clinic that serves low-income, uninsured, Newton County residents with chronic illnesses like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, heart failure, diabetes, lung diseases like asthma and COPD, blood clots and seizures. The clinic does not accept walk-ins or take insurance.
New patients can come by to complete an application on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays from 8am-5pm. Call or visit the clinic website to learn more.

Offers $75 all-inclusive primary care office visits for people without insurance. ​The office also offers regular and DOT physicals for different prices. Oasis also accepts Traditional Medicare.

Walmart Care Clinic
Walmart Care Clinic offers basic primary care services. They accept some insurances, but offer special rates for people without insurance. Basic office visits start at $40 while labs are an additional $8-10 each for most tests.

The clinic also offers regular and DOT physicals for different prices as well as counseling, eye exams and dental services.

MedCura Health (formerly Oakhurst)
MedCura is a "sliding scale" clinic where visit costs are based on your income. If you have low-income and complete all of the necessary paperwork, office visits can be as low as $30, but lab tests and other services like x-rays will have additional fees.
You will have to pay FULL PRICE for services if you do not complete all paperwork and bring valid picture ID, proof of income, and proof of residency to the visit.
MedCura offers Primary Care and OB/GYN services at their Conyers location. Specialty services including Dental, GI and Podiatry are offered at their Stone Mountain location. *Note that it can be difficult to get someone on the phone on the first try as offices are busy. You can leave a message for the patient navigator at extension x1379 to set up new patient visits.

Lab Testing for Uninsured
Ulta Labs
Ulta Labs offers reduced-cost lab testing that you can order and pay for online. Cost includes having blood drawn locally. You can typically save up to 75% off the market price for labs. This can be a good resource if you do not have insurance or if your insurance does not cover the cost of your lab tests.
