Low-cost testing and treatment for common STIs including chlamydia, gonorrhea, herpes, syphilis, and HIV. Also offers free condoms.

 

The health department already offers low-cost services for people without insurance. If you have very low income, you may be able to get an even LOWER cost. The staff cannot provide an estimate over the phone, so please come by in person with your valid picture ID and proof of income to get the best price.

Women between the ages of 18-44 who are able to become pregnant may also qualify for a special GYN-only Medicaid called Planning for Healthy Babies (P4HB) that pays for STI testing and treatment, PAP smears and birth control. You can apply at the health department or online at gateway.ga.gov.

Positive Impact Health Centers

Contraception

PAP Testing

The Newton County Health Department

Low-cost pelvic exams, pap testing, breast exams, STD screening and treatment, health education and counseling offered through the health department's nurse practitioner.

MedCura Health (Formerly Oakhurst)

MedCura is a "sliding scale" clinic where visit costs are based on your income. If you have low-income and complete all of the necessary paperwork, office visits can be as low as $30, but lab tests and other services like x-rays will have additional fees. You will have to pay FULL PRICE for services if you do not complete all paperwork and bring valid picture ID, proof of income, and proof of residency to the visit.

 

MedCura offers OB and GYN services at their Conyers location. Note that it can be difficult to get someone on the phone on the first try as offices are busy. You can leave a message for the patient navigator at extension x1379 to set up new patient visits.

Oasis Healthcare Service

Offers $150 all-inclusive visit for office visit with breast exam and pelvic exam with PAP test for people without insurance.

Walmart Care Clinic

Walmart Care Clinic offers basic GYN services. They accept some insurances, but offer special rates for people without insurance. The basic office visit is $40 and the PAP is an additional $50 for a total of $90 minimum. The provider may want to do extra labs which are an additional $8-25 each for most tests.

The clinic also offers regular medical visits and physicals for different prices as well as counseling, eye exams and dental services.

​

Appointments are available, however walk-ins are always welcome.

Sexual Assault Help

Day League

Day League provides support for survivors of sexual assault including FREE, confidential, post-assault forensic medical exams from a specially-trained nurse practitioner in a private office setting, individual and group therapy, in-person advocate accompaniment to medical, legal, and court proceedings.

Pregnancy Help

The Newton County Health Department

If you are pregnant, you may apply for "Presumptive Medicaid" at your local county health department. Presumptive Medicaid is a temporary coverage prior to a formal determination of eligibility at DFCS. You can then apply for official Right From the Start (Pregnancy) Medicaid.

Offers support and education as well as free baby supplies to women who participate in parenting classes.

Positive Parenting is a family support program for young adults. You may be eligible for The Positive Parenting Program if you are 12 to 25 years old and expecting (or just delivered your baby) and live in either Newton or Rockdale County.

HIV/AIDS Treatment

AHF Lithonia

AHF provides treatment to people living with HIV/AIDS regardless of insurance status. AHF has a pharmacy on-site and provides case management services in addition to medical care. Contact the office to make an appointment. They will help you apply for low-cost (sometimes no-cost) services if you are uninsured. They will need your picture ID and proof of income.
